my Nephew

Happy 2nd Birthday to my nephew Isaac.
Looking at these photos, I'm quite shocked.
This session feels like a success, when at the time,
I didn't think I got a single shot
It was getting late, he was tired.
....can't tell, huh?
I love these two!

Happy Birthday Adam

Adam turns One today!

One of my dear friends was over the other day,
with her son being just days from turning the big O-N-E,
we had a little photo session.

This guy is always smiling!
Adam has been photographed with this teddy bear every month of his life,
such a fun collection of photos to have

This boy has two super adorable big sisters,
who each have a beautifully, handmade dress from
so we decided to do a quick, casual photo session with them
You MUST check out their Etsy shop, you'll be in love,
and I'm not kidding, you'll want to buy your little girl one of everything they have!

...since we were on a roll, I decided to have this little guy model
an adorable cotton tie, that was sent to me from Crafty Chicks.
more photos still to come from this session,
he and my baby girl photographed so cute together.

I hope I haven't lost you yet, this blog post is full of fun stuff.
Check out this video/slide show I put together
of Adam's 1st Birthday photo session.

another Birthday

I'm just about Birthday(ed) out...naw, just kidding,
but maybe you are?
It seems like my last few blog post have been...
birthday, birthday, birthday.

Seven years ago today, June 11, I gave birth to my first child, Austin.  I was due on the 9th, so two days over and I went into labor at about 3am.  It took me till about 7am to realized that I was indeed in labor.  (oh I love labor/delivery stories...if there are two things that I LOVE to talk about, and hear others talk about they are: Photography and Labor and Delivery....so interesting).  Anyway, I'm not going to assume you like to hear all about it.  But 7 years ago today, was one of the best (and hardest) days of my life.  I love my big boy.  I'm amazed with God's creations, and so blessed to have this boy in my life.

Happy 7th Birthday Austin!

I love making my kids' birthday cakes, though I'm always tempted to buy something super fun and cute from the grocery store, but I figure that it would probably cost more than their birthday gift.  I asked Austin what he wanted on his cake, and we came up with this, a "dirt cake" crumbled oreo cookies (for the dirt) and gummy worms.

he sure felt like he hit the jackpot...a few of his favorite things right now are: money, Wii, Pokemon and soccer...and he scored on each of those and more!
Call me crazy, but I had a "sleep-over" party...6 extra boys.
They played so good and played so hard.
We had a "Dinosaur Egg Hunt"
I had purchased 125 filled Easter eggs after the holidays,
and thought the kids would have fun with it.

We celebrated his birthday last week, as I am photographing a wedding today.
I just thrilled to be doing what I love.
I can't wait to share a sneak peek with you all!

Happy Birthday

My son turned 3 over the weekend, and thank goodness the day finally arrived.
This kid has been asking me daily. "Mom, my birthday?"
He was THRILLED to have had a birthday, birthday cake and presents.
and we pretty much celebrated all weekend long,
I kept reminding him that he's my birthday boy,
and he was lovin all the attention.
Oh, it seems like yesterday he was my little baby
goodness, how the days and years fly by.

Happy 3rd Birthday Nelson,
I love you.

Enjoy the little slide show I put together of our fun birthday photo session.

Friends

We had a play date today,
and thought it would be fun
to photograph the girl friends together.

I thought it would be equally as fun
to photograph the boys,
but they had absolutely NO interest,
so I gave up.
Friends!

we also celebrated Mr. K's 3rd Birthday

There is something so special about a Sister

Party #2

Aren't these the cutest cupcakes?
I had two neighbor ladies and their girls over today
to celebrate my daughter's 5th birthday
and my awesome neighbor, Lisa,
made (and brought) these
duck and sun cupcakes.

and check out the inside
I've never seen such a cool-looking cupcake
Oh, the kids LOVED them (I did too)
such a fun treat.

The girls

Every year my kids celebrate their birthday 'several' times,
once with mom & dad, on the exact date
again with Nana & Auntie Cassie
and again with friends.
and every year I say,
ok
next year we are going to celebrate it only once.
I say this only because they begin to expect several celebrations.

Well here I am, a new year, and a new round of birthdays
and this girl actually had her THIRD party tonight (pics to come)
and I know there will be another...
any suggestions as to how I should handle this?

My St. Patrick's Day Baby

It's kinda fun, the New Year brings us monthly birthday celebrations.
February, March, April, May and June...then August.

I can't believe she is 5 (tomorrow)!
WOW
Seems like it was just yesterday
she was standing there with her paci and holding her penguin
She has hung on to her 'penguin' for so long.
She's my only child, who's become attached to anything (so far)
and I love it!
Her penguin brings her so much comfort.
He has changed names over the years
First was 'Penguin'
then 'Penguino'
and now is 'Peeno'
Peeno's been loved so much, he's needed many repairs.
Looking at these photos tho, he appears brand new.

Happy 5th Birthday Princess, I love you so much.
You are such a sweet, loving, funny (super funny), caring girl
you bring me so much joy.
You'll always be mamma's Jewel.
