Away in a Manger

Last winter I had the chance to photograph something very special.
This group of cousin's and the Manger Scene.
Grandma & Grandpa had a large canvas printed, and I've heard it's just beautiful!

Away in a manger, no crib for His bed, the little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head;
the stars in the heavens looked down where He lay, the little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the poor Baby wakes, but little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes;
I love Thee, Lord Jesus - look down from the sky, and stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay close by me forever, and love me, I pray;
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care and take us to heaven to live with Thee there.

Happy Thanksgiving

I just love all the projects the kids make at school,
I should really photograph them all, as they don't seem to last too long
and arn't the easiest to store.

We just had conferences at school.
I really appreciate all that the teachers do for our kids,
life is so busy, and at times I feel guilty, like I'm not doing the best that I can,
tho at the moment, I feel I am.
So leaving confrences I had a good feeling,
my kids are good kids, so I must be doing something right.

Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm so thankful for my faith, family and friends!

I wish everyone a safe Holiday weekend,
and hope you score all the Black Friday deals
that are on your list!

Phoenix, Az

I had a wonderful 6 days in Phoenix, Az!
I have family and friends that live there.  Last Fall a group of them flew me down to photograph their families and we joked that this should become an annual event.  Well, when this Fall came around, the idea was brought up, but I was just feeling too busy to get away.  But in the end, it worked out and I had another fabulous trip and seven fun photo sessions!

My flight was so enjoyable! I left Minneapolis at 7am, and I was able to enjoy an incredible sunrise from above the clouds. I then flew out of Phoenix at 3 pm and saw the sun set, from about the clouds, arriving back in Minneapolis at 8 pm.  It's such an amazing sight, to fly over your home town in the evening, Minneapolis was breathtaking, wish I took more photos, but at that point I was feeling slightly embarrassed, because I had already taken so many photos and video, because I wanted to show my kids that "Mom was up in the sky, flying in an airplane"...I think the guy next to me thought I was nuts.
I love AZ scenery, so different than what I'm use to.
Seriously, for you Minnesotans, can you believe this is October/November?
Oh, it was so fun to enjoy the sun and summer weather for a few days.

Here are a few photo's from the sessions I had,

I've had so much fun with this family.
To see baby B learning to sit up
to now walking (running) all over,
makes me so excited for our Fall/Winter session,
to see what these girls are doing now!
Baby B is One!
it seems like just yesterday she was 9 months old,

Thanks K Family,

another day at the Lee household

It was so fun to see the joy on the faces of my big kids
when they walked up the driveway and they saw their baby sister.
Everyone LOVES the baby of the house,
she is just the sweetest thing ever!

my kiddos...Oh, they are growing up so fast!
They are just a fun, wild, crazy group.
I'm so blessed to be their mother.

Today, my 3 year old started, what we are calling "Pre-school"
It actually is an ECFE class, about 3 hours a week, and today was his first day!
He had fun, he's really going to enjoy this special time with mom and at school!
I'm so glad I decided to sign him up.
He is very pleased to have his good friend Ashlyn in his class!

1st day of school

My Big 2nd Grader

and My Kindergartner

Mom & Dad wishing them a wonderful first day at school

Bus Stop Gang

I have an afternoon Kindergartner, so we got to hang out a bit before the bus came
visited with some friends while we waited.
My 3 year old was 'so sad' he couldn't go on the bus,
he just didn't understand why!

OK, so here's where things get a bit crazy...Alynn was so excited that her bus was coming,
but it obviously wasn't her bus, because it drove right on by.
To make sure, I called the bus company and was informed
that, "Yes", the bus was running about 30 minutes behind schedule.
Alynn got so bored waiting for the bus, she asked if she could ride her bike.
"Sure" I said, stay right where I can see you.
Well, I got busy visiting with a friend, and I thought,
"hmmm, the bus should be coming any minute",
well Alynn was no where in sight!
She obviously took off on her bike, down the path, which is NOT ok!
I was getting frantic, plus the 2 three year olds were missing also.
And sure enough, her bus comes.
So I proceed to tell the bus driver that
"my daughter got bored waiting for the bus and must have took off on her bike,
so now I need to go find her, and I'll have to just drive her to school."
As I'm waiving the bus off, she rides up.
I wave the bus down, quickly scold her for taking off like that,
and send her on her way, to her first day of Kindergarten!
definitely not how I planned this day to go, and it bothered me all day long!

I was definitely happy to see her run off the bus was a huge smile on her face!
I was glad to know she enjoyed this special, big day!

how did your first day of school go, any interesting stories?
